Do you get enough of the essential omega 3 Fatty acids - The essential nutrient that’s completely missing from most peoples diets today..
The fact is, it is very unlikely that you do.. The nutrient we refer to is Omega 3 fatty acids -- and more importantly one type of Omega 3, DHA. You will learn more about DHA further down the page. First of all, let me introduce my self - My name is John Gibb and I became interested in health, nutrition, keeping fit, and educating my self on all aspects of nutrition around 6 years ago. I’ve read hundreds of books and magazines on vitamins, foods, and many detailed studies on omega 3 as a whole. I created http://www.nutritional-supplement-guides.com where I show people around the world, the natural health products I use and why. I have a team of health expert editors who also educate others on creating optimal health through sound nutritional regimes. Here is a picture of me on the right with one of my health editors below. I was learning about the types of fish around the time of this photo, and it was here, where I found out that not all fish are equal in terms of quality fish oil. More on this below..
I became obsessed with learning everything on nutrition as a whole and decided I wanted to create my income educating others on how to create optimal health. Around 14 months ago, I found one of the single most important nutrients that many of us lack in our daily diets... Omega 3 Fatty Acids The reason I personally got so interested in Omega 3 was because of what this nutrient can do to promote health and prevent heart disease -- and after extensive research, I found out that it's the single most essential nutrient that is nearly completely missing from our diets. Of course, there are people who have their nutrition and health down pat, but on the whole, there is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. I spent a vast majority of my time researching nutrients and learning everything I could about the best ways for optimal health. I am now in a position to give you no-nonsense advice using my own, and my many health editors own experience on using a vast array of health supplements over the years. Because we have tried many products, and now believe we have found the most pure supplement company in the world, you can now make an informed choice about what is best for you and your health. During my research, I came to the conclusion that many people around the world lack a major nutrient. This has become known as omega 3, and unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past ten years, you would’ve seen this being advertised everywhere. More importantly, many people lack an important fat in particular, which can be found in omega 3 and that is known as DHA. Because of the lack of this crucial fat, this can have negative health effects, especially when it comes to ones cardiovascular and overall brain health. Don’t just take our word.. . The American Heart Association quotes..
. We will now move on to one of the questions we often get asked. So, What Exactly is Omega 3?Omega 3s are known as essential fatty acids that first came in to discovery in the early 1970s. They have since been studied and been part of many clinical trails. Today, there is enough evidence to support the fact that these fats are crucial for optimal health and fighting off nasty diseases. Sadly, not many people realise how important omega3s are, what they can do for you, and why many sources being sold and consumed can actually be detrimental for your health. Last but not least, many people don’t know where you can find the most pure natural form of omega 3. We will now discuss these problems further.. Omega 3 fatty acids are known as polyunsaturated fats, these are one of the four types of fats that we normally consume daily from the foods we eat. The other three types of fat are known as cholesterol, monounsaturated fat, and saturated fat. Omega 6 and omega 3 are known as EFAs - Essential fatty acids. The reason they are called this is because they have become known for promoting vibrant optimal health. The problem is however, is that our bodies do not make these crucial fatty acids on their own. So, in order to combat this known problem, we need to obtain these fatty acids from other outside sources - the most common being the foods we eat or the supplements we consume. We have learnt during our research over the years that many diseases and common problems within the human body can be linked to a major shortage of omega 3. We have also found out that the omega 6 fatty acid comes in abundance in today’s world. There is no shortage of this fat in a typical diet of the western world. To be honest, most of us consume way too much omega 6 and not near enough omega 3. People need to know that the ratio between omega 3 and omega 6 is crucial. Due to the fact that there is a severe deficiency in omega 3, this ratio is completely out of balance for the majority of people. The best ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 is known to be 3:1. Because omega 6 is included in many cooking oils, and many of the foods we consume daily, this ratio is said to be around 20:1, or even higher In some cases. As you can see, consuming more pure natural omega 3 has become more important over the last few years.
The 3 Kinds of Omega 3There are three kinds of omega 3 fats. The first two are known as EPA and DHA and are both found in cold water fish. Some examples include salmon, tuna, and the Hoki fish. These two fats can also be found in fresh seaweed; however, this is known to be the only plant food that contains these two substances. The third type of omega 3 is known as ALA - alpha linolenic acid and can be found in flaxseed oils, dark green vegetables and some vegetable oils.Even though it is possible to consume DHA and EPA from plant seed oils like flaxseeds, the fact is - you may not be getting these substances, even if you consume flaxseed daily. Let us explain more below.. The omega 3 you get from flaxseed do not contain DHA and EPA directly, however, they do contain the precursor to these substances in the form of ALA. For your brain and heart to get the true health benefits from EPA and DHA, you must be able to convert the ALA to DHA and EPA effectively. The problem is, unless you’re in the best possible health and all your organs are running smoothly, this conversion will most likely not happen. This is often the case for the elderly or those whose health is a little suspect. Even those who are generally well often struggle to effectively convert ALA to the required substances. Even if you are in the best possible condition and are fighting fit, you will only convert around about 20-% of the ALA to these vital substances. So, in conclusion - the only way to get the true benefits of EPA and DHA is to consume it directly in the form of pure natural fish oil. Cod Liver Oil VS Fish Oil...When we talk about cod liver oil, we need to realize that this oil is very different to fish oil. Cod liver oil comes from the liver of the fish, where as the fish oil comes from the body of the fish. The problem with cod liver oil is that it is very high in vitamin A, and, because of this, if you decide to supplement with it, you need to limit the amount you consume because you can actually overdose in vitamin A. This can result in heath implications and have a negative impact on your bone and joint health. Moreover, cod liver oil smells and tastes disgusting - where as fish oil, especially the one I am discussing, doesn’t have any of these problems J Omega 3 Benefits Due to vast research, omega 3 has been proven to benefit ones health and prevent disease. Major Omega 3 Benefits: Skin disorders and skin health The benefits of fish oil are well documented, in-fact, there are numerous studies around omega 3 alone and its known benefits for ones health. The brain needs adequate levels of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) an essential fatty acid to repair and rebuild cells. Fish has been known as brain food for some time because it harbours this particular fatty acid which is crucial for brain health.
Scientific studies show that the fatty acids found in some fish promote optimal brain function. Increasing the amount of omega-3s you consume may improve ones memory and general IQ.
Depression, multiple sclerosis and attention deficit disorder have all been linked to low levels of DHA in a person’s diet. However, the health benefits of omega 3 fish oil supplements go way beyond brain health.
Let’s take a look at some opinions on DHA from health experts in this field:
"One of the most important of these fats is called docosohexiaonic acid or DHA. This fat
plays an important role in the formation of the synaptic connections within the brain. These connections allow the various parts of the brain
to communicate with each other and communicate with the body as well." "Adequate levels of DHA are required for proper brain and eye development and function. DHA is important for signal transmission in the brain, eye, and nervous system". Heart Disease by Goldberg, page 46
"DHA is not only very critical in brain development but also in maintenance of the brain
later in life. Don't forget, the brain is constantly restructured throughout life, even into the extremes of age. Unfortunately, because of
food-processing methods and industrial raising of animals as meat sources, most omega-3 fatty acids have been removed from our
foods".
Fish Oil Supplements RisksWe know the importance of including omega 3 in our diets, however, until recent times, there were major risks when it comes to consuming fish oil supplements. The main reason for this is because most fish oils had not been molecularly distilled, and, because of this - contained high levels of unwanted contaminants in them. This is more so for the many fish oils being sold that use fish harvested in the North Atlantic Ocean. The North Atlantic has become known for producing fish that have high levels of toxins in them, especially heavy metals like mercury and PCBS. The fact is these risks are still largely apparent today, and thus, many fish oil supplements being sold can actually impair you health. We always thought the main reason for people selling fish oils supplements was to improve people’s health. Sadly, profits over people’s health seem to be more important for many nutritional companies. On top of this, the majority of fish oils being sold today - are actually a mixture of many different types of fish from all over the world. We have found out that sadly, most of these fish will often always come from polluted waters. The good news is that a process called molecular distillation by a reputable competent company will remove these known contaminants. However, for the best possible results, it is always best to start the whole process with a fish that has virtually no contamination in the first place. How do they go about this, simple, by choosing fish that swim in the most pure natural waters in the world. The Purest Fish OilI have personally found a fish oil that is molecularly distilled that comes from a unique cold water fish from New Zealand known as the Hoki. This particular species of fish live in pristine conditions around the southern ocean just off south-western New Zealand. The water here has been found to be the most natural and purest in the world. Myself and my various editors have personally been using this fish oil for over 3 years now with excellent health result. We have noticed improved energy and a general sense of mental clarity and over well-being.Even though these waters mentioned above are not exposed to industrial pollutants, the fish are still put through an extensive molecular distillation process to remove any form of contamination - whether that is man-made or even natural contamination. What’s more important about this species of fish is that they are naturally high in DHA, if you’ve been reading this page carefully; you will have learnt how important DHA is for our overall health and well-being. This makes this particular fish even more beneficial for our health. The product I’m recommending is known as Omega 3 DHA Esters and is manufactured by a company called Xtend-Life Natural Products - located in the pristine source of New-Zealand. Not only do I personally use the products from this company my own health, I also work with this company and have had many email conversations with the Presidents son of the company - Kane Matthews. He is an honest down-to earth guy who is always eager to help, and I have been using Xtend-Life products for my own health the entire time I have known him for. I’m more than happy with the results and so are my editors, friends and family who also use Xtend-Life. To be honest, my experiences with Xtend-Life have been phenomenal in terms of the products I use, the company as a whole, the staff and the overall support. I highly recommend them based on my own personal experience. If you want to learn more about Xtend-Life, be sure to click here to check them out and see for yourself why they offer the best products of their kind.
One other important point for you, as consumers to be aware of: Not all fish oils are created equal, selecting the wrong supplement can mean the difference between vibrant health and no health benefits at all. More over, some supplements on the market have been found to contain contaminants and toxins that can impair your health. Make sure you purchase a natural grade of fish oil, and make sure the supplement company you buy from holds a Certificate of Analysis for the product. This applies to all dietary supplements, not just fish oil. The Price The fact is, many health supplements that have the benefits that I’ve discussed above are normally over-priced. However, when you take in to consideration the quality of the ingredients used, you will see that the price is very affordable as well. I have looked around for similar products and compiled a chart below for your perusal. The chart below compares the product we personally use from Xtend-Life with the other four most popular used fish oil products currently on the market. To compare the products correctly, the amount of DHA in each soft gel was taking into consideration. The chart below shows the cost of DHA per 1,000mgs. Value For Money
It is important to note here - that the species of fish in the above products is not indicated. Side-note - The cost for the product we use from Xtend-Life Natural Products doesn’t take in to consideration the minimal cost for shipping either. As you can see from the above chart, even before discounts - Our product of choice only costs $16.85 per bottle - (a month’s supply) And, as you can see Xtend-Lifes DHA Esters are less expensive than the other popular products on the market. The heavily promoted fish oil promoted by Dr. Barry Sears doesn’t even compare to that of Xtend-Lifes. In each bottle there are 60 ester capsules, which is around a months supply. One capsule gives you 1,000 mgs of the most pure and natural Fish Oil Esters, which contains: 440 mgs of the essential fatty acids
